THOMAS R. GREENE III

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1970, I was influenced and enlightened by my father, an illustrator who led me down the path of creativity and appreciation of all things handmade. This environment created the ability for me to truely see my surroundings in a new light.
In 1990, midway through my studies at The Savannah College of Art and Design, I was awarded a scholarship to study painting and art history in London, England, where I gave a lecture at The Royal Art Academy on color theory and Post-Impressionism. In 1992 I graduated with a BFA in both Painting and Illustration, and Associates in Art History with a focus on figurative and portrait expressionism. Soon I began to paint large-scale and spontaneous gestural work infused with non local color and an alla-prima approach.
In 2006, Broome Street Gallery exhibited my large-scale figurative work located in Soho, NYC.
Currently I'm focusing on industrial city-scapes and the occasional en plein-air landscapes working in ink, acrylic, and oil.
